between the products we sell — such as Heartgard, Frontline,
and Advantage — and those products that are sold in catalogs,
pet stores, and on the Internet. The packaging looks the same,
but the resemblance ends there.
The biggest difference? Quality.
- Products not purchased directly
from a veterinarian are, at best, second-hand goods. Purchased
initially by a veterinarian and then resold to non-veterinarian
venders, they can be compromised when they change hands.
- There is no guarantee that they have
been consistently and properly stored in temperature — controlled
environments.
- These sellers are not subject to
any regulatory agency, such as the State Board of Veterinary
Medical Examiners or American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA)
to inspect or oversee how the products have been handled.
At SRVH, our products are shipped overnight directly from the
manufacturer and are secured in a controlled environment. As an AAHA
accredited hospital, we are held to strict standards of storage
and care of our inventory.
The next difference? The guarantee.
- Products sold through SRVH are guaranteed
100% by the various manufacturers. If there is any product
failure, they will pay for the treatment of your pet.
- With third-party vendors, because
there is no regulation beyond the primary veterinarian, the
manufacture DOES NOT offer the guarantee to Internet,
catalog, or pet store customers.
And last but not least, there's our relationships.
First, there's the doctor-patient relationship.The
efficacy of most products depends upon proper usage. SRVH-trained
staff reviews any important information about the product purchased,
explains how to properly administer the product and, in some
instances, even administers the initial does so you can see how
it's done.
Second, there's our relationship with
our vendors. We work with suppliers that are licensed
to operate in the State of California. Many catalog and Internet
suppliers are not.
